Day 1: Arrival in San Silibia

After many weeks of travel through untamed wild lands, I have reached a road that after following for a ways, has brought me to a rather large city that one of the locals has told me is called San Silibia. From here I can catch a ship to one of the larger port cities to the south, and then continue on to my current destination across the sea. I found a small inn on the outskirts of town to stay in, conveniently located near a stable where I could board Carp while we wait for the merchant ship to arrive.

The innkeeper is an impressive woman. She has a no nonsense demeanour, and that extends to her establishment as well. The rooms are simple fare with a bed, a chest, and a small table and chair. There are no meals provided, just a clay pitcher for water and a wooden mug. If I want to bathe or launder my clothing cheaply, the river is about four hundred paces away. If I want food and drink, there is a tavern at the end of the street where the stew is only a copper penny a bowl. Anything more lavish and in her words I can "waste all the coin I want" in the market district.

I have only a few coins of silver and gold with me and a long journey ahead, so the river and tavern will do me fine, I think. Tomorrow I will explore the town and perhaps find work to occupy myself and bolster my finances. Tonight, I am road weary and the bed, lumpy and hard as the mattress is, is far better than the cold ground, and sleep calls to me.
